相信有關注金馬獎的都不陌生，讓桂綸鎂奪下影后的【女朋友 男朋友】。剛好在金馬獎的前些天，我有幸看過了這部電影。

青梅竹馬的陳忠良和林美寶，青梅竹馬。老實說，明眼人都看得出林美寶是喜歡陳忠良的。無奈木訥的良感覺不出寶的暗示，而把寶讓給了自己的好兄弟心仁... 當寶接受了心仁后，良發覺了自己的心也是喜歡心仁的。

複雜又糾結的三角戀，到最後誰都不得幸福...

唉，到最後反正兩人都得不到自己想要的人了，爲什麽就不在最後結婚，相知相惜？ 那樣陳忠良也可以名正言順地照顧那兩個孩子了，不是嗎？

一切青春的衝動和遺憾...

在我個人觀點，要知道電影會不會好看，其中一個要素就看演員表。因為一個好演員會選個好劇本；當然帥哥美女也重要。

這部電影，單單是主演就吸睛了。梁朝偉和周迅，都是我非常愛的演員，二話不說，一定要看！

你看看，連海報都那麼有feel... （明明就先入為主）

周迅的角色真的是很令人扼腕啊~ 那么的美、魅，偏偏就是不敢交心的一个女人。让长年爱慕的王学兵和梁朝伟两个男人到她死，也只能蓦然流泪...

這個評論寫的不錯：聽風者，聽的是音樂，看的是愛情。

今天終於去看了期待已久的【那些年，我們一起追的女孩】。

看完後，明白爲什麽大家都說是一級棒的電影。

那些年，青春的遺憾美。

很棒的青春，很美的回憶，雖然是很痛的過程。

很喜歡電影裡說的：青春的阵痛就是，女孩永远比同龄男生更成熟。

當大家年輕時，爲了面子；那曖昧時刻，誰都不願意承認愛上了對方，因此錯過的遺憾。

若干年後回想起來，當時到底是怎麼了...

Guys, be a man!

Watched this movie, Something Borrowed couple of days ago:

• Well, Dex and Rachel were study mates in law school and obviously they're fond of each other.
• Somehow down the road came Rachel's happy-go-lucky best friend, Darcy who takes everything easily.
• Due to some misinterpretation, Dex ended up with Darcy and yeah, they're about to get married... and THEN only Dex and Rachel found out that they loved each other all along! 
• =.= Stupid but yeah, that's what norms do due to: shyness, misinterpretation, ego, want-face, blah... 
• So they confessed and had a short affair where Dex, being the guy living to satisfy expectations instead of what he wants (well, just like most of us) don't dare to call off the wedding... Until Rachel decides to give up on him and move on with her life.
• Thank God in the end Dex kinda realized he's gonna missed the love of his life & found his guts to cancel the wedding & be with Rachel.

The whole point here... Is about what guys does.

Just like other  buddy-friend-couple scenario you'll see in young romance movie, the boy is a ladies-man, he's caring, he's gentleman, he's a girl's listener, blah blah... and so a girl fell for him. She confessed, he rejected for who-knows-what reason. Since they're friends, of course they still hang out once in a while. Apparently every time when the girl decides to move on, the boy always gives hope. Once he was drunk and told her, " I shouldn't have rejected you.." and then when he's back in consciousness the second day, it's back to normal and nothing happens... *I feel like fly-kick somebody*

Guys, why can't you just make things simple and clear and let us girls move on with our lives? Is it that hard just to give a confirmed answer and settle the issue? *roll eye* I wonder sometimes how does guys' brain function. Don't complicate it. If you don't like the girl, just tell her! Don't give hope, can?

Thank God she's smart enough to move on without him.

Just like I what I tell my girlfriends, if the guy is such a kiddo that can't give a clear-cut answer, you might as well give up and stop wasting time on him. Who knows he does that with other girls too?

I have a friend whom just met a very charming and cute guy, he told her he likes her, they went out for a sweet night. So what's next? The girl's not sure whether the guy is planning to have further move or just friends. I said just ask and get on. Don't be afraid of scaring the guy off. If he's really such a good guy, he won't be intimidated & he'll talk it out with you. *Heck, don't forget he's the one who asked you out in the first place, k?* 

Btw, guys, girls confess because you're charming, ok? So please stop playing hide-and-seek and say "I don't know"!!! Urgh...




Of course, every one loves to just sit back and relax and best of all, no need to make choices! But that's not the way of life! You won't have your mama to decide everything for you throughout your life! Grow Up!

This year instead of stage drama production, my church (City Harvest KL) will be having a movie screening of this film (which is our first film production) !!!!

RIO

"Rio" is short for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Well, of course, which is the background city of this new animated film about a blur macaw bird. *I kept thinking the bird's name is Rio instead...*

Thanks to yes world, I got to watch this fun animation in advance!


First of all, from the creator of Ice Age, it's already a guarantee for lots of laughter~ :)


The comedy-adventure centres on Blu (Jesse Eisenberg), a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there's another - and that the other kind is a she - Blu then leaves the comforts of his cage in a small town in Minnesota and heads towards Rio. But it's far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel (Anne Hathaway).

Not only this animation captured the image & beauty of Rio, the spirit of Brazilian's carnival. They featured quite a lot of scenic views of Rio, including the Christ statue on Corcovado Mountain! *I didn't know it exist until this animation*

Well, as what you see in the picture above, it's almost the same of what you'd see of Rio in the animation. I must say they really did a fantabulous job on that!


As for the story, I basically laughed all the way... Personally, I think it's a lot better than "RANGO" (though that has my fav Johnny Depp) & "HOP" (despite all the cuteness)!
So if you're an animation person, or you simply wanna bring your kids for a show, I strongly recommend this! :)

The Way Back

Do you even notice this movie is shown in cinema?

Yes, it was shown since 21 Jan BUT most cinemas took it off 2 weeks later.

Just because this movie isn't a blockbuster.

Just because there wasn't a great publicity for it.

Just because it's Chinese New Year, it has to make way for the CNY flicks.

But nevertheless, thanks to the few remaining cinemas (including GSC 1 Utama), my sister &I managed to watch it.

At the start of the movie, you might be startled to see one of its production co. is National Geographic Films but as the movie goes, you really could feel how they captured the beauty & cruelty of our mother nature. 

Claimed to be based on a true-story, you feel even more the strength of human will power & the extend it brings forth. WALKING through cruel winter of Siberia, Mongolian desserts, and Himalayan mountains! The humanity, love & encouragement among each other that supported their spirit...

The Way Back" is an epic story of survival, solidarity and indomitable human will. Few prisoners of a Soviet Union labour camp flee their Siberian Gulag in 1940 and begin their life-affirming journey over thousands of miles across five hostile countries.

Seriously, if you like SURVIVAL, DRAMA, ADVENTURE, this movie is something NOT TO BE MISSED! I dare say it's NOTHING NEAR to boredom.
With names such as Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris and Colin Farrell, what is there to lose? There's even Saoirse Ronan (from the Lovely Bones) in it!

*psst... You might even learn some basic human survival skills*

The Social Network

I'm pretty sure frequent movie goers would have seen this posters in various cinemas nationwide which stated showing Nov but have yet to see it in screen, yet already hear the buzz all over the US about it. Yes, it's "the social network", based-on-true-story of the most popular sites in most of our daily life, facebook!

While some of my friends has seen it online, there's various media sponsors starting giving invitation for special screening since Sunday. So yesterday, thanks to ShaolinTiger, Niki Cheong & Nuffnang, I got passes to the special screening in Mid Valley yesterday!

This movie starring Jesse Eisenberg who play the role of Mark Zuckerberg, also the founder of facebook. While the all so very cute Andrew Garfield plays the role of Eduardo Saverin, supposedly the best friend of Mark.

And so while the rest of the world (guys especially) are curious & want to search for the mystical Erica Albright (well, I actually overheard some guys while waiting outside the washroom that they also wanna facebook out Mark's ex), I'm more interested in knowing how the actual founders of facebook look like...

The verdict: they look really... "Harvard" after all.. LOL

How actually is the movie? I would say it's a VERY INTERESTING movie, almost great, to see the origin of facebook (though not sure how accurate is the truth) and the conflict behind it (and ass-like people) . For brotherhood, or dream, or simply business?

Well, for those whom are not of virtual world, internet & facebook... (like my dad?) Probably it's not the best choice but for the rest *thumbs up*

BURIED

剛看了"Buried"，整個電影就一個場景、一個主角。

電影在一片黑暗中開始，只聽到急促的呼吸音；接著一堆摩擦音后，才有打火機的燈光照明。

看著前面30分鐘，會覺得有點乏味；可是隨著時間流逝，那被活埋，求助無門的無奈、絕望、憤怒... 看了真的會有點辛苦..

回想起來還是會頭痛... *感恩我幸福地活著*

review on INCEPTION

Being asked the meaning of "inception", I think most of us wouldn't have a clue, neither do I...

After searching for the meaning online, "inception - an event that is a beginning; a first part or stage of subsequent events".

As far as we know, it's a new sci-fi movie by Leonardo DiCaprio!

I've been so thrilled & excited since I watched the trailer, that I go watch it first thing after my lunch! I mean.. Leonardo DiCaprio never failed to amaze me with his acting & this is definitely yet another not-to-be-missed!! Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, they ALL delivered it to their BEST!

It far exceeded my expectation, love the idea of dream vs reality to the extend that you can't differentiate both. The action & all, it's totally mind-blowing that it's simply an epic mastermind... Ok, I've lost track of my words..

This is Matrix relive, man! A movie that will blast your mind off between reality, sub-concious & dream!! Chris Nolan, I can only say he's a genius for being able to think of such a simple plot filled with complexed details! He's simply the mastermind!

For some weak-hearted such as my sis, she described it as "a little horror" with all the tensity.

Quoting my friend Cindy, "This is not just a "blow things up" movie , but a movie that is creative and original in every aspect and will make you think long after you leave the cinema.

"WOW" is all that I can say & I'm still feeling the adrenaline rush through my veins even at this moment as I think of it hours after the movie!
The 0.5 that I didn't give is simply for the ending of the movie where it leaves a little mystery for you to decide whether it's dream or reality... Urgh... LOVE IT!!!

I can't wait to go watch for the second time~ *whee*

PS: Clear your mind before you go into the cinema… & don't go with simple-minded people cos they'll get confuse somehow in the middle of no where (like Matrix used to be) & start asking questions!

I wanna be The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Nicholas Cage is on screen again with his new movie "Sorcerer's Apprentice".

Well, of everyone's mind, what would you do if you have magic? What would you do if you're a sorcerer?

I think a lot of people somehow have kinda been brainwashed by Spiderman's “When there is great power, there is great responsibility.” thingy thus the most common yet simple answer would definitely be “TO SAVE THE WORLD”!

If I am a sorcerer, I won't save human cos as long as there's humanity, human beings would have greed, ignorance, jealousy, etc... Let's not go down the list, we see wars and killing, destruction throughout human history YET there's always such a thing call love thus humanity prevailed & human will still survive.

Anyhow, with the power I have, I'd save the animals from extinction due to human cruelty, such as sea turtles, tigers, rhinoes, whales, etc... Well, throwing fireballs on those who kills for greed is just one of them, I will try to put spells on certain amount of animals that nobody could harm them. Or perhaps I just move some of them into the magical world of sorcerer.For that I might need help from a lot of sorcerers, I need sorcerer friends~

Last but not least, if I am a sorcerer, I would very much like to get to know other lgendary sorcerers such as Albus Dumbledore, Lupin, Hermione, Ron & the twin Weasley brothers... Yes, the sorcerers from Harry Potter! A different movie but they are sorcerers too, right?

Hmm… Come to think of it, it ain't bad to be a Sorcerer's Apprentice after all~

Despicable Me

As most cartoon lovers will realised there's a very cute cartoon coming up with lotsa cute minions... & they're seriously VERY CUTE~~!! Yup, the movie is called "Despicable Me"

So with the coming up of this movie, United International Pictures Malaysia is giving away premier tickets jsut by taking a video of your young one(s) aged below 9 years old saying ‘Despicable Me’!

So I took a video of my couzie saying that phrase...

Ain't he natural? There was a bettter, cuter version but then the background voice & all were too disturbing thus this is Take 2... and he went naturally crazy... =.=

review on Robin Hood

Robin Hood, a legendary figure of robbing the rich and aiding the poor.

Thanks to The Star R.AGE, I get to watch this epic movie in advanced yesterday at TGV 1Utama.Frankly I didn't realised this movie coming till I saw the tweet and all from R.AGE, anyhow seeing it having Russell Crowe in it already gives me much anticipation as he's one of my favourite actor since his marvelous performance in Gladiator & Beautiful Mind.

At personal preference, the movie itself captured my heart the moment I see the ancient castles as well as the landscape of mother nature with the seas and hills... Ah, the serenity... Ok, Bias perhaps but I memang love those old English thingy.

Not realising Cate Blanchett is in the movie, I was surprised & excited to see her on the big screen! LOVE HER!

Instead of a common story of how Robin Hood aids the needy, this is a story of HOW Robin came to be known as Robin Hood. (Didn't know he was called Robin Longstride till now).

Of course every movie has it's villain that at times of poverty & war, of justice & power, there's always people that are willing to betray their king for a reward of power and wealth. Thus this Si Botak comes in...

Watching this movie really brings out the spirit of justice right out of you, you yearn for true English man spirit, humble, brave and loyal. Especially when all the noble fight in unity, defending their homeland despite their dislike to the idiotic moron king. LOVE the scenes when all come together, riding horses across the greenery of hills and jungles...!!

By the end of the movie then only I realised it's 140 minutes long! But then again the tinge of humour here and there in the movie kept me in without even feeling its length.

If you love "Gladiator" or "Kingdom of Heaven" (Credits to Ridley Scott whom is obviously very good at this category of films), you'll definitely love this! Well, even a person as picky as my brother said this is GOOD ~

Personally think it's far better than Iron Man as this is one true legend movie with pure action and not too much of exaggerated CG.

To me, Russell Crowe + Cate Blanchett + Ridley Scott = an epic not to be miss!!

My Rating for this movie is 5/5

**PS: This is the first time I've been in a cinema where all of us were required to switched off our mobile phones, not even silent mode is allowed~ :P Due to some security reasons of we're watching it earlier than US or something…

初戀紅豆冰

兩個星期，還沒看紅豆冰的，相信也跟我一樣在網絡和各大媒體看到紅豆冰的好評。

昨天看到小馮的感歎說：《初戀紅豆冰》，何止是初戀？何止是紅豆冰？

看到這麼一個評語，弄得我更加 無法再等下去了，今天決定拋棄我的朋友自己先去看了！

觀後，真的徹底地理解了同學想表達的… 這一切何止是那初戀和那紅豆冰？

就像我看到的速寫本子說：《初戀紅豆冰》就像大馬華人的《海角七號》。我還沒看《海角七號》，不過我覺得這也有點像《光陰的故事》，帶出了一個小地方的特色，和他們的小故事。

初戀紅豆冰是一部讓你看了之後，會想要靜靜地沉澱在自己的世界，尋找那麼一個回憶裡的故事。

我個人覺得初戀紅豆冰對一些城市中長大的小孩的感觸可能沒那麼深，比較無法體會那從小一起玩到大的成長過程。不過對於很多在小地方長大的小孩，相信和我一樣，可以在電影中尋找到大家共同的記憶...

由於我家裡也是開咖啡店的，所以當Botak每條街那樣去收回咖啡杯，我也跟著回到以前跟阿姨到附近的店家去收外送的咖啡杯的日子...

那坐在咖啡店一角數十年，卻突然說走就走的老伯伯...

那因為父母欠債而被迫連夜潛逃而突然消失在你生活圈子的朋友...

當然，還有那種誰喜歡誰，誰喜歡誰的情節，相信好多人都經歷過，那小小孩童的兩小無猜，朦朦朧朧也不知道是不是初戀... 就像小馮說的：初戀就是模糊到你自己都不清楚的。

哈哈... 那用紙筆寫情書的日子！

長大后大家都一一離開小鎮，而那留下來到最後，要目送大家都走的人，我都覺得好可憐，卻也好堅強，能有那麼多的勇氣離別。

現在望回去那仿佛遙遠的成長回憶，那大家都覺得大家會永遠在一起，卻隨著歲月的洗禮，大家都變成最熟悉的陌生人的故事。記憶中那最熟悉的人，最甜蜜的回憶...

雖然我只做了數年的小鎮小孩，我也感謝那美好的回憶… 也真的很感謝當年有那一些同學，有了豐富的童年...

寫到這裡，我又想輕輕地哼 "你轻轻柔柔的细述着槟城下的雨 淋湿你的长发几十年来抹也抹不去... "

阿牛的声音真的很能勾出那淡淡甜蜜的遗憾和回忆 :)  感謝阿牛的堅持和執著，讓我們有那麼棒的一部電影去回憶... *等待電影OST*

My Date Night

There's this upcoming movie called "The Date Night", starring Steve Carell & Tina Fey. It's about how the couple's day night out turned out to be an unforgetable run and hide event!

 

My most memorable date was back in college, 20.6.2003, the day before "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix" was launched! Haha… *You know how memorable is THAT, I even remember the DATE~*

 

Well, since me and my date are huge Harry Potter fans, we wanna grab hold of the book as soon as possible, and what's more, Kinokuniya KLCC was giving out GREAT discounts for the first 100 customers!

So that afternoon after class, we've just decided we'll be psycho ONCE for the sake of the book, we decided to go QUEUE and WAIT!

 

But back then being normal college students WITHOUT a car, we left our college in the evening and went to KLCC for dinner. We know it'll be a VERY LONG night waiting, so we've decided to watch a mid-night show... I've forgot what's the name of the Indian movie though. *Yes, as we've been hanging around in cinemas after class weekly, the only movie that interested us and left unseen is an Indian movie~ and the best part is IT'S 3-HOUR-LONG so our wait outside could be shorter*

 

By the time the movie finished it was about 2AM. Without public transport, we couldn't go anywhere, not that we want to anyway so we basically WAITED OUTSIDE KLCC... We've walked around, played some cards and then decided to sit down and read some novels. *Thank God for BOOKS*

 

We thought there would be a lot of crazy people like us waiting for the whole night but apparently the first crazy person didn't show up until it's 4:30AM… *The other humans we saw throughout the night were the security guards and the janitors..*

 

Anyhow, after the first person show up, there's more people showing up as time passes, with their parents or grandparents being dragged up early in the morning to send them there...

Before the entrance of KLCC was opened, there's already a HUGE crowd squeezing in front of it, including us. And the MOMENT the door was opened... *BOOM* EVERYONE PUSHED & RAN like there's a tiger behind and we're RUNNING FOR OUR LIVES~ *We have to RUN UP the NOT MOVING ESCALATOR*

You can see slippers flying slippers then being abandoned because the owner just keep running up!

 

*deep breath* THANK GOODNESS by the time we ran up to the 3rd floor and queue up, we were customer 95-97~!!! Yay yay yay~ and we all got our book at GREAT discount~!!

 

THAT was a GREAT NIGHT out~!! Oops.. Did I mentioned that my crazy dateS were TWO crazy GIRLS?! Miss you girls so much~!! *Hey, nobody set a rule that your date MUST be a guy and MUST be only one person, right?*

 

Nuffnang is giving away 90 pairs of tickets to "Date Night", I hope I can get the tickets so I can watch it (on behalf of the girls)~ *and who knows MAYBE this time my date would be a cute GUY? XD*

My Valentine's Day

As most movie lover would know, there's an upcoming movie with cast that will make your head spinning! Yes, it's “Valentine's Day”!

The movie’s about the intertwining storylines of a group of Los Angelinos as they find their way through romance over the course of one Valentine’s Day.

Yes, as you can see from the poster, the movie is directed by veteran filmmaker Garry Marshall, the film stars Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel , Bradley Cooper , Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey , Hector Elizondo , Academy Award® winner Jamie Foxx , Jennifer Garner , Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway , Ashton Kutcher , Queen Latifah , Taylor Lautner, George Lopez , Shirley MacLaine , Emma Roberts , Julia Roberts and  Taylor Swift!

Oh my oh my~ And what's BETTER?! Nuffnang is giving out 80 pairs of Premiere tickets!! *Provided I completed a very creative blogpost, that is... then I'd  STAND A CHANCE to it~*

So if I were to pick a cast from the movie to spend my Valentine's with... *Wow, there's a whole LOT of “juicy” picks~ * I'd pick  Anne Hathaway!! *Not to worry, I'm not lesbian, I like guys*

I know, I know, why NOT pick  a hot guy such as Ashton Kutcher instead? Well, it does come into my consideration but... He's too cute that I think I might get a blood-rush to my brain and fainted OR I'll be too shy to say ANYTHING at all, which might bore him to death & wasted  a good day!

Still, why Anne Hathaway? Because she's smart, she's pretty & hype~ Yes, I LOVE her to the max since her first “Princess Dairies”, “Ella Enchanted”, “Brokeback Mountain”, “The Devil Wears Prada”, “Becoming Jane”, etc... *in awe*

To me, Valentine's is a day of sharing and appreciating your loved ones, so it'll still be a lovely day even if you're sharing with a best friend, your family or loved ones~ What's more, as EVERY Malaysian KNOWS, THIS YEAR'S Valentine's is the SAME DAY as CHINESE NEW YEAR!!! So, instead of spending it as couples-day, I'd rather spend it with my family members!

Oh my… Sorry for the ramblings and not going into the main topic of how I'll spend a day with Anne Hathaway~ So since it's Valentine's Day cum Chinese New Year, I'd love to have her spending the Valentine's with the New Year festive celebration, the Chinese way.

As the usual routine, we'll have the traditional mee suah in the morning for breakfast, then go visit relatives and get some ang paos~ *Would it be the first time Anne receives any ang paos?* After the relative visits, then probably we'll go watch “Valentine's Day” together(?) like BFFs~

Later we could go some malls in KL (definitely VERY FEW PEOPLE so will be FREE TO WALK) and take pictures with the New Year decors, it'll be LOVELY!! Probably she'll get to see her first lion dance performance if we're lucky~ Then after dinner, we could head back home for the night's MAIN EVENT: Fireworks!!  *Hehe..*

I'd say it might be a very normal Chinese New Year routine for most of us even if it's ngam ngam on Valentine's Day BUT for Anne Hathaway, I think it'll ve a VERY SPECIAL experience & that's the most important —— Making your date of the day HAPPY!!

MUALLAF

If you know who's the late Yasmin Ahmad, then you would have known about her last movie “Muallaf”. Yes, it's finally up in Malaysia cinemas for some weeks now and I've finally watched it.

I could have watched it during its premier when I got the tickets BUT THEN the AVATAR premier (which *yes, I also got the tickets*）was on the SAME NIGHT SAME TIME~！Well... Ummhmm... I went to the later...

Brief introduction from CinemaOnline:

"Muallaf" tells the story of two Malay sisters, 20 year old Rohani (Sharifah Amani) and 14 year old Rohana (Sharifah Aleysha) who are on the run from their wealthy, abusive father. Finding refuge in a small town, they meet Brian (Brian Yap), a 30 year old Catholic school teacher who finds himself irresistibly drawn to the sisters and their extraordinary courage. This relationship inevitably forces Robert to confront a haunting memory of his own troubled childhood.

Muallaf is mainly about issues of love and forgiveness. The passion of the two sisters seeking comfort and peace from the word of God, *both Quran and Bible*. It's not like betraying one's religion but it's more of wanting to know more about God thus they do comparitive study between both.

From this movie I learnt that, and or your information, “Muallaf” means “convert” in direct translation but let's NOT go into the religious issues here, k? Don't burn my blog~* 

I like the part where Rohani says “People are afraid of what they don't understand...”. When she says “Why do people always hang their hopes on other people? ”

I like it when both the sisters pray for forgiveness every night before they go to sleep.

I like it when both the sisters are so familiar with the verses from both the scriptures and they can find SO many similarities. I like it when they ask “Why do people fight over religion when we're all brothers?” That's a question a lot of us should ponder about. Weren't we thought to LOVE one another?

I'm sure Yasmin Ahmad's intention is not to say people of certain religion is so strict and mean in the movie. In fact, she's trying to put it in a way that everyone in some way make mistakes, even when they think they're doing the right thing, it maybe hurtful, and thus it's important for us to FORGIVE! *I once heard "Don't try to be holier than God." Indeed, lots of time it is not for us to JUDGE what others do.*

Interestingly, the main background of it is set in Ipoh~! Well, as I lived in Ipoh for couple of years, it made me keep thinking "Where is this?" and such.. But the ONLY place I'm totally sure of is the UdaOcean with its "UO" logo~ XD

In Yasmin Ahmad's movie, you can always find peace and unity regardless of unnecessary issues the politicians like to make a big fuss about...

it's REALLY a VERY good storyline. Simple yet reminds you what is peace at heart.

Paranormal Activity

As most horror movie freaks will know, Paranormal Activity is showing soon on cinemas! *Well, yeah i know it's already been showed LONG TIME ago overseas*

Anyway, thanks to NUFFNANG & GSC, I got the chance to watch it earlier today at Tropicana! Decided to watch it with Sam (he later reminded me the last time we've watched preview together was Lord of The Ring 1~ omg... So LONG ago~ Haha)

When I collected the tickets, I was kinda amused by the size of the paper... SO SMALL~!! but it looks VERY CUTE! and the girls gave me a Lemongrass Mint Doublemint (Is it a new product? I'm not sure as I seldom eat chewing gum *but this tastes ain't bad*) and the badge with it...

 

You see what I mean by small? Haha.. *My sis later said: this is to save paper & environment mah~*

Ok... Let's go into the movie:

The movie started without any trailers beforehand. Just started out of the sudden, quietly...

When the paranormal started in the beginning, you might think "ok.. So that's it? What's next?"... You may consider the couple as paranoid. Kinda starts to bore me a little...

But THEN, when the strange activity gets more agressive, the tension starts to build up *and I actually starts to have headache, I think maybe my blood pressure went up :P*

And the near ending, you really can kinda feel the creep a little, and get a slight shock... and it ENDED~ With no credits, no theme song... Just like that!

It's a simple and low-budget (I suppose) movie with only ONE scene set which is the house & only FOUR person throughout the movie!

And guess what? The "creepy thing" never showed~

Haha... If you're VERY weak-hearted, it might not be suitable for you. If you're extremely cynical person, just DON'T walk into this movie, might break the fun of others that watch with you. But then if you just like some little rush of adrenaline + you have patience for documentary-style of movie shooting + you can tahan mild headaches after movie, then maybe it's ain't that bad at all...

Astro Boy

Went to GSC 1 U yesterday for ASTRO BOY, courtesy of Cinema Online.

Well, I know the Astro Boy figure for quite some years but I never actually read the comic itself so I have NO idea what to expect than a robot boy that has strong power and rocket flame shoot out from his feet.

I went to watch this animation because it was voiced by Freddie Highmore, whom I like a lot~ But somehow it doesn't sound like he used to be, in his voice-changing phase, i suppose? Nicholas Cage, such a good actor as he is definitely brings out the soul of the regretful father.

Remake based on the original manga series by Osamu Tezuka in 1952: A powerful robot created by the head of the Ministry of Science, Doctor Tenma, to replace his son Toby who died. *I didn't even KNOW about the existence of Toby or even the reason Astro Boy was made, until now*

Seriously, though it's a regretful story of losing a son but then to me, Toby is simply a think-he-knows-it-all show-off smart-ass brat! Whom though being warned and detained off inappropriate places yet still can get himself in the mess and thus leading to his death. *and who's being left behind with grief and regret? Yes, exactly, the FATHER.*

Cut the crap short,  set in the scene of futurama, you may still see how human beings are. Lazy till the point where almost EVERYTHING has to be done by robots. Selfish, poluting the earth then just leave the trash behind. Power-obsessed, will do anything that harm others as long as he himself has the authority and power. Human that lives in denial. *Sigh… Pathetic*

Yet, there's still quite a lot of little scenes that just make you laugh. The simple gesture of love children showed towards life, towards everything they have. Children that doesn't label others like adults. It's all about gratitude and love.

It's a simple story, not much of twist and turn. It's better than expected (for a person like me that is almost clueless about what it can offer). *Though I think the alien-invasion part in the end is kinda out-of-no-where and lame*

I think it's worth a watch if you're into simple animation story. Apparently there's Cantonese version available in certain cinemas with Nic Cage's part voiced by Aaron Kwok~!

Oh… Till NOW still I feel like smiling just by thinking of the cute robots~ Astro Boy at GSC 1 Utama… *I wonder who's under the small outfit? A kid or a small-sized grown up?*

Ninja Assasin Attack!

RAIN the Ninja Assasinis COMING SOON!! YES, NINJA ASSASIN, NOT “Ninja”, that's another movie.

In conjunction with the upcoming movie, Warner Bros Pictures had a flash mob on Nov 14, 2009 at the orange entrance of Sunway Pyramid. The flash mob was scheduled at 6:30pm.

But then when i walked pass the orange entrance at 5:30pm, the Ninja Assasin truck was already there. And there's people waiting around the entrance…

At 6:30pm, the programme started with the stand-in emcee Patrick  giving out some Ninja Assasin MOVIE PASSES!! Well, there's actually quite simple to win them, just answer some simple questions, OR follow the Ninja do some NINJA ACTION! But then… The crowd is kinda *SHY* and not many people dare to go up to grab the FREE tickets, ended up the emcee even asked one of the tourists (in photograph with the kid) to join in.  Thank God the tourist uncle is spontaneous enough to join in even though his English isn't very good thus doesn't understand what the emcee was saying most of the time… *sweat*

 

And when the movie passes were FINALLY ALL GIVEN OUT~ The Ninjas POSED for the crowd to take photos… *but only one KID dared to went up, what's wrong with the crowd, seriously? *

And the dance BEGAN~ Here's a video i took… Kinda shaky a bit having to avoid the video crew in front of me…

OKAY… I know you're wondering WHY it ALL STOPPED SO ABRUPTLY… For that, I'm SORRY because my camera OUT OF MEMORY~ *SHAME* sigh… Anywayz the Ninjas ended with a rather cool pose~

Three of the Ninjas are actually kinda cute thus I asked them to pose for me which they happily DID… BUT~ *sob* MY FAULT AGAIN… So excited that my hand shaked!! *slap in the head*

But STILL they are cute… *if you can even see*
