Upcoming: sixteen
To many of us, a day is just another 24-hour day but to some it may be a lifetime. Doing the things we love, loving the things we do... but what if not all of us share the same chances or privilege in life?
Is strength displayed only in the joy of victory or perhaps in the faintest of smile of a seeming defeat?

ALARICE in CHCKL
This weekend our very own City Harvest has a special guest in our midst, ALARICE!
Alarice is a singer-songwriter who was born in New Zealand to Singaporean parents, and grew up in Australia. The 23-year-old released her debut EP “Songs for a Season” in 2008, and sold over 3,000 copies within 6 months.
- Intro extracted from CHCKL bulletin
Frankly I've never heard of Alarice before this as I've been listening more of Chinese songs these few years. So this is the first time I heard her sing and her voice in awesome indeed!
Alarice performing her new song “Sunday Afternoon”…
Then after a short interview, she performed another song of hers, “Part the Seas” and a tribute to Michael Jackson, “Man In The Mirror”.
She's such a sweet and lovely girl with marvelous voice!
I've even took video of her two performance but as I tried to upload it to share (planning to share on Alarice's fan group) on FB, I got this "Notification of Alleged Copyright Violation" saying the video was being removed as " it appears to contain copyrighted material owned by a third party, such as a video clip or background audio. Please note that if you re-upload this video without filing a counter notice, or if you upload another video that infringes on the rights of a third party, we may remove the content. This could cause your access to the Facebook Video application, or your Facebook account itself, to be disabled." !!
=.=" what the heck~ Then how come Alarice's fanpage has other videos shared by fans?! It ain't easy uploading videos with Malaysia's internet connection, ya know? What ever... Better still, keep the videos to myself & save up my energy of uploading...
Anyway, if you wanna PREVIEW Alarice's music, you may visit her youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/alaricemusic
Or for more info, visit her official website: http://www.alaricemusic.com/alarice.html
Or better still, just go GRAB A COPY OF HER CD! –end of story-

Ninja Assasin Attack!
RAIN the Ninja Assasinis COMING SOON!! YES, NINJA ASSASIN, NOT “Ninja”, that's another movie.
In conjunction with the upcoming movie, Warner Bros Pictures had a flash mob on Nov 14, 2009 at the orange entrance of Sunway Pyramid. The flash mob was scheduled at 6:30pm.
But then when i walked pass the orange entrance at 5:30pm, the Ninja Assasin truck was already there. And there's people waiting around the entrance…
One of the Ninja chatting with friends while waiting…
At 6:30pm, the programme started with the stand-in emcee Patrick giving out some Ninja Assasin MOVIE PASSES!! Well, there's actually quite simple to win them, just answer some simple questions, OR follow the Ninja do some NINJA ACTION! But then… The crowd is kinda *SHY* and not many people dare to go up to grab the FREE tickets, ended up the emcee even asked one of the tourists (in photograph with the kid) to join in. Thank God the tourist uncle is spontaneous enough to join in even though his English isn't very good thus doesn't understand what the emcee was saying most of the time… *sweat*
And when the movie passes were FINALLY ALL GIVEN OUT~ The Ninjas POSED for the crowd to take photos… *but only one KID dared to went up, what's wrong with the crowd, seriously? *
And the dance BEGAN~ Here's a video i took… Kinda shaky a bit having to avoid the video crew in front of me…
OKAY… I know you're wondering WHY it ALL STOPPED SO ABRUPTLY… For that, I'm SORRY because my camera OUT OF MEMORY~ *SHAME* sigh… Anywayz the Ninjas ended with a rather cool pose~
Three of the Ninjas are actually kinda cute thus I asked them to pose for me which they happily DID… BUT~ *sob* MY FAULT AGAIN… So excited that my hand shaked!! *slap in the head*
But STILL they are cute… *if you can even see*
IF you missed this, and you want to brace yourself as Ninja Assassins engage in "Open Combat" ,you may check it out at following locations in the next couple of weeks.
Nov 20 - Sunway Pyramid, Asia Cafe, USJ SummitNov 21 - Tropicana City Mall, Murni SS2, Paramount Nasi Lemak

Don't Forget the Lyrics
The competition I had the most interest in is definitely the PHOTOGRAPHY competition but heck, apparently past winners of EMERGE CAN'T JOIN the same category!!
Since i'm the winner for EMERGE 2007, i'm now not qualified to enter... *sob* why lah... * And for yours dearly's information, the prize i got that year, now don't know where to, I never even get hold of it also... BIG SOB*
Sigh... Since I can't join the photography competition no more, though I already start taking photos for it...
So Sean at the last minute asked me whether i'm interested to join "Don't Forget the Lyrics".
For Chinese songs category, there'll be 60 songs, where as 160 songs for English category. AND we have 4 DAYS for~ OMG~ In situation like this, of course I choose Chinese category lah!
When I got the song list, there's songs that i'm VERY FAMILIAR like FIR, our very own Michael Wong, TANK, etc... But there's also VEYR UNFAMILIAR ONCE like WANG LEE HOM! Oh my... I know Lee Hom is VERY FAMOUS but out of his 6 songs, maybe I just know 3 lah... and the lyrics all so long, HOW? Sigh...
And then when you might THINK that since i'm familiar with lotsa songs, it'll be SO EASY for me which is SO WRONG!
Since I like to sing KTV so MUCH, well OBVIOUSLY JTV has LYRICS PREPARED FOR YOU! So basically even though I like to sing, I don't remember the lyrics!
And now it's DOUBLE HARDER to remember those you THINK you know the lyrics but thr truth is you just remember the RHYTHM... Gosh...
Need to buck up!
Go GO GO VU~~!!

Taste Of Malaysia
Location: Shangri-La Hotel, Shanghai
"Taste of Malaysia" was a fashion show introducing batik couture, hosted by the Consul General of Malaysia in Shanghai, collaboration with iKarrtini Malaysia.
About 15 students from the Malaysian Student Association of Shanghai (mostly committee members) were invited to help out with the event. After class that day, we rushed there hoping we're not late but seems that we were rather early...
So before further busy stuff came along, I took some pictures of the settings...

Most of our "job" is to help to jaga & promote the iKarrtini batik that was on sale that day... These are the little booth & some of the pieces... Cantik kan?!

1.MOST IMPORTANT: MUST take picture with the designer & main designer, Pn Kartini Illias~
2.The 2 amcee of the day, wearing designs of iKarrtini with Consul General of Malaysia, En Azmil
3. amcee with another designer of iKarrtini, Alex, a talented person with sweet personality...

Other than the iKarrtini batiks, there's also some other batik-made items for sale at the other corners of the lounge, not iKarrtini-branded though, i think...

Soon after I finished "scouting" around & took pictures, the guests started arriving & thus the event began. Judging by the looks of the guests, I figured some of them (kebanyakan mat saleh) are consul general or ambassador as they have the leader temperament.
After some meal (Of course got meal lah, Malaysian punya event mesti ada makanan~ *at least most function that i've attended sure got*), the fashion show began~!*WOW, my FIRST ever fashion show*
First, they had a dance performance...

Did anyone noticed the model in the 2nd & 3rd paragraph has a bit of Taiwanese boyband Fahrenheit's Wu Chun look? (飞轮海的吴尊)... erm... from specific angel lah...
I was basically standing in front of the stage with other professional photographers trying to take the best look out of the models *but well, obviously i am not pro myself & so wasn't my camera & skills*Due to the light setting & the insufficient battery of my old camera, the pictures were a little dim-lighted but still the design shines...
After a slight break, then the FEMALE DESIGN of the batik collection starts...
The model in the first photo look a bit like Carina Lau,刘嘉玲...*at least the few of us on the spot thought so*

And this is MY FAVOURITE of the day *wished that i could have it... :P * Later i found out Alex designed it...

I realised I have quite a lot of pending post, so i flipped through my photo folders & realised that though i've posted up photos on this event, I didn't post a blog about it so i'm posting it now...

One Way, One Truth, One Life, One Destiny...

A team of missionaries came over from City Harvest Singapore to join us. After the praise & worship session, filled with joy, the team gave a short presentation (sorta sketch thingy

The award you get, the good deeds you do, your wealth, your wiseness.... All these doesn't bring you eternal life. The only way to salvation is through our Lord Jesus Christ whom paid for our sins with His blood.

This message was later on being bring forth by Ps Kenneth Sim.
It was well explained inthe Bible scripture Luke 16:19-31 where the rich man went to hell because he rejected Jesus, while the poor beggar Lazarus went up to heaven after he died because he belives in out Saviour!
The main point is not that rich/wealth will lead us to hell.... But the rejection of Jesus Christ that will lead us to eternal perish in hell.
I'd say the message today is very good.....
